Shar Systems recently completed a custom mixing system for a Michigan customer, delivering equipment that includes a twin high-speed disperser along with a low-speed sweep cage and a 3-zone jacketed stainless steel tank and comprehensive control systems.

The Build

The system centers around twin 200-horsepower motors, each running high shear and pumper impellers at 870 RPM, driven by belt drive systems. The low-speed drive consists of a 75-horsepower motor driving a 3-bladed sweep cage with Teflon side and bottom wall scrapers running at 24 RPM. The stainless steel dished bottom tank features a 3-zone water jacket rated for 14.9 P.S.I.G.

Key mixing components include the high-shear impellers and low-speed sweep assemblies for thorough material processing. The system includes flanged twin discharge outlets, load cells, along with a custom-configured head with inlet ports specifically tailored to the customer's desired inlet connections.

The project incorporated automated batching controls with load cell technology for precise material measurement.

Getting It There

Loading industrial mixing equipment onto a flatbed truck requires careful planning. Professional riggers secured everything for transport to Michigan, where the customer's facility was ready to receive the new equipment.

A team of Shar Systems technicians traveled to the delivery site to oversee the offloading and will return to assist in the initial unit startup. This ensures the equipment gets up and running properly and any startup issues can be addressed immediately.

System Integration

Beyond the main disperser components, the system includes control panels that handle automated operations and monitoring. The setup replaces older technology with updated systems that give operators better process control.

Additional components include specialized sealing systems rated for both vacuum and pressure operations, along with safety features designed for continuous industrial use.

This type of custom mixing equipment serves industries where material consistency and process control are essential for product quality.
